Brother Knights
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: This Saturday, St. Michael Knight Brother Tom Schmitt needs about 20-30 volunteers for a major charity event at the Zoo. Free food, and free child care for kids ages 5-12!!! This is PERFECT for a bunch of high-schoolers to get some free food, then help with the Zoo’s first (and model) sustainability event!
The Chilly Open is run by the Westerville Sunrise Rotary Club from noon to five. About 25 restaurants bring their goods to a huge heated party area at the Zoo, and we have a band, beer/wine, and a bunch of other fun to go with the all-you-can-eat food. Each year, the event raises about $200,000 for central Ohio children’s charities, including Children’s Hunger Alliance, Buckeye Ranch, and Mt. Carmel St. Anne’s.
Brother Tom Schmitt coordinates about 175 volunteers to make it happen, and is about 20-30 people short. They’re 2.5 hour shifts, and you get a free ticket to enjoy the event for the rest of the time. Volunteers can sign up on SignUp Genius, or check out the event’s main page and buy a ticket to come (did I mention FREE CHILD CARE for kids ages 5-12!!!!!)
