Website Updates

Brother Knights,

In a continuing effort to make our council website more useful, I made some changes last week to the back end of our website that I wanted to make you aware of.

Email To Post

This works just like Google Groups, except that everything also gets posted to the website automatically.
For security, only email addresses in the system are allowed to post. Anyone who has an email address on the system can submit post to the website. If you’re receiving this via email, that means we have your email address. All addresses from Google Groups have been pulled into the website.

Event Calendar Update

I replaced the old event calendar with a new one. If you were subscribing on your smartphone or computer, delete the old link. You’ll want to subscribe to this new calendar feed URL, which is also at the bottom of the homepage: Events automatically show on the homepage and also automatically populate the calendars of anyone who subscribes to them. You do not need to be logged in or a member of the council to subscribe to the calendar feed. (So for wives who want to know our schedule, direct them to the website.)
One of the new features is that the calendar can take RSVPs for events. Like Evite and SignupGenius, once you log in you can change your RSVP. This will make it easier for those who are planning events where we need headcounts.
As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
Vivat Jesu,
– Mike
