Knights of Columbus St Michael Council #11445
April 13, 2025

REGULAR BUSINESS MEETING

Grand Knight LaMorte called regular business meeting to order at 734pm and
proceeded with an opening prayer and Pledge of Allegiance.

A motion was made to waive reading and approve the minutes of the prior meeting,
which was seconded and passed by voice vote without objections.

CHAPLAIN’S REPORT:

REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
Grand Knight (Michael LaMorte)

  • Super Cash Bonanza, thanks to Dan Rako for picking this up!
  • Thanks to those who attended Br Schera’s Honor Flight!
  • Thanks for everyone’s help at the Fish Fry!
  • Pub Night coming up Sat April 25th
    • Need someone to pick up pizza and wings, see Br Gissel or Br LaMorte for volunteers
  • Need new Faith Director until new GK comes in
  • Under new business, someone should propose to get a table runner that announces who we are for things like the Stewardship Fair

Membership (Brett Gissel)

  • Quota, we are one short to hit quota.
  • A few others in the pipeline and should hit the quota.
  • Very healthy pipeline, keep getting men active!

REPORTS OF DIRECTORS AND COMMITTEE CHAIRMEN:
Program Director (John Greve)

  • Recruiting for new slate of officers
  • One position left, Community
    • Role is an email forwarder for Special Olympics, Battle of Worthington, and Honor Flights
    • Essentially email reminders of these events
    • Could add more community events to it as well!
    • Doesn’t take a lot of time, just need someone to fill it

Family Director (Sean Murray)

  • Next couple months, a couple of family activities
  • Handing out carnations again, request on the way
  • Corpus Christi
    • Going to request to have a picnic after one of the masses and celebrate after the procession
    • We will take care of hot dogs, burgers, etc.
  • Breakfast at least in the pipeline

Council Director (John Greve)

Faith Director ()

  • Vacant
  • Will be filled by Br LaMorte

Life Director (Wayne Lovely)

  • Diaper Drive coming up in May
  • Will be in bulletin
  • Need guys after Masses to manage logistics

Community Director (Br Amrine)

  • Measure UP coming up on the 25th!
  • Up at the Kroger in Worthington
  • Going to set a table and take donations
  • Signups coming soon

Fish Fry Committee Chairman (Chris Fricke)

  • Thanks for everyone’s help this year
  • Served over 3100 meals in 6 week timeframe!
  • Shout out to all the committee members!
  • Expect to have final expenditures by next meeting

Report on the 4th Degree (Tony Matlak)

  • Next exemplification May 2nd, Church of the Resurrection in New Albany
  • Join the 4th Degree now, see Br Gissell, Br Matlak, Br Wade, or Br Fricke for more info!
