To allow you the opportunity to attend the parish mission dedicated to Our Lady, which starts at 7pm, I’m moving the start time of our business meeting on Monday back half an hour to 8pm so that all who want to can attend then Marian mission talk.
As a reminder, we will be performing the investiture in the Brown Scapular at the meeting as well. The Brown Scapular is a powerful sacramental that was a gift from Our Lady to St. Simon Stock. (If you want a little more background on the Brown Scapular, you can read more here in the “Mothers” lecture from 2017.) If you have not be invested in the Brown Scapular, come to Monday’s meeting!
As you know, I have an expectation that as a Knight, all of you will give up 1% of your free time every month. Breaking down the math, that’s an expectation of 1 hour of work on your spiritual life, and 1 hour a month volunteering at something.
The Marian mission talk is an excellent way to get your 1 hour of spiritual life work done for this month.
The hour of volunteering… well, here are some opportunities:
- Mother’s Day carnations: If you’re going to the 12:30 or 5pm Masses this Sunday, we could use your help handing flowers to all mothers, grandmothers, and Godmothers. Sign up here: https://kofc11445.com/volunteer-opportunities/?sheet_id=65
- Flags at Resurrection Cemetery: Signups close tomorrow! This event was first started by Brother Chris Damo, and since his passing it has been kept going by his wife and many, many others. While it’s not a Knights event, we always have a strong showing. This typically only takes about an hour and it’s a great family event, even for families with kids in strollers. - Memorial Day Parade hot dogs: If you’re able to man the grill, please sign up here: https://kofc11445.com/volunteer-opportunities/?sheet_id=66
