Service Event: Bridgettine Convent Cleanup, October 19

The convent for the Bridgettine sisters serves the Columbus community through hosting retreats, Eucharistic adoration, hospitality, and prayer. The guesthouse that is under construction will eventually serve the needs of people who are traveling to Columbus for medical procedures, but have no other place to stay due to money or other circumstances.

The sisters in residence at the convent need our help to weed and clean up the grounds inside the convent walls, winterize their garden (which supplies much of their food for the year), and hang some wrought iron trellises on the brick walls. We will begin with Mass at Holy Family at 9am, then after taking care of the various tasks, the sisters will provide lunch for all volunteers around noon.

Note that this would count toward service hours for all St. Michael School middle-schoolers.
