Brother Knights,
Just a short note to express my gratitude for all of you, and your efforts—both great and small—in service to the our council, to St. Michael Church and School, to the Catholic Church at large, to our community, and to your families.
When I joined the Knights about 14 years ago, I had no idea how much of an impact it would have on my life. We sometimes use the phrase “good and holy Catholic gentlemen” when talking about each other, and truly, one of the greatest gifts of the Knights is the fraternity of being surrounded by such people. We all have our shortcomings, true, but the measure of a man isn’t where he stands today but where he is headed tomorrow. So as we all strive to be the best “good and holy Catholic gentlemen” we can be, as we yearn to live up to that moniker, we each have the ability to inspire others to be better versions of themselves. Beyond a doubt, I wouldn’t be the Catholic I am today without the inspiration that I have received by being around my brother Knights over the years, especially those who challenged me by their own example of faith, service, and virtue.
With that in mind, I encourage each of you to continue to be the best “good and holy Catholic gentlemen” you can be, because your families, your community, your Church, and your brother Knights all need you.
Merry Christmas, and Vivat Jesu!
