Council Community Activity Opportunities

Hello brother Knights,

We have a number of opportunities listed below where our Council can make an impact in our community. Father Dailey is very pleased about our upcoming Service Day, so please save the date for this opportunity. Please
read on.

SEPTEMBER EVENTS

Honor Flight – Mission 135

This Thursday, September 19th
It would be great to have some of our Knights to support our Veterans and meet at John Glenn International Airport for Honor Fight’s Welcome Home Gathering. This is a great opportunity for your children to also earn
volunteer service hours. Gather Time: 8:45p.m.
Meet at the Ticket Level
Our Vets will have left early that morning to spend the day in Washigton, D.C. We gather for their return, thank them for their service and let them know how much we appreciate them. I would plan on being there, but I have commitments on Thursday evenings. I am going to try and make future ones though.

Future mission dates to plan for:
October 10th – Mission 136
October 31st – Mission 137

Gather times and locations are the same as above.

Our Grand Knight and I met with Fr. Dailey last Saturday at the sister’s convent to discuss the variety of needs the
sisters have around their grounds.

Some areas that need attention are:

  • Tilling the Garden (the sisters live exclusively off their garden when
    planning their meals)
  • Landscaping needs
  • Putting up Lattice
  • Clean up the bushes and grounds next to the railroad tracks

We need participation from as many Knights as possible on this project. Fr. Dailey assures me of the need the sisters have and how our support will be making a major difference to help make their mission a
success.

At our next meeting we will have more details on the groundbreaking plans in store for the convent.

Their project and plans include construction of housing to provide a place to stay for families of patients being treated at OSU.

Don’t miss our October 14th meeting to learn more. We will have a sign-up posted soon.

Fraternally,
Alex
