I wanted to send a huge thank you to everyone who helped out with the breakfast today! It was a huge success with approximately 200 attendees and almost $700 in donations (compared to the $500 cost). I will definitely be proposing that we use the donation money as a seed for a new set aside so we can continue doing the breakfast in the future. We had a ton of compliments and all the set up and cooking went off without a hitch.
A special thank you to Sean for taking the lead in organizing this and for spending so much time working this morning even though he was simultaneously working on a baptism party for his baby (congrats on the baptism Sean!). And a huge thank you to all who showed up last night and this morning at 6:30 to cook food and set up. Big kudos to Joe, Mike, and Chris for helping with getting all the food and supplies (And scrounging up good deals). And thanks to Ron Fann the man for making some mean (and huge) fanncakes. And thanks to Larry for his egg cracking and bacon cooking. And thanks to Sam for staying through clean up and for doing everything that needed doing! Apologies if I missed any names.
Events like this really bring our parish together and reinforce that St. Michael is a great church to call home. It also shows that all it takes is some determination and team work to make an impact. Can’t wait to do it again!
