Repose of the soul of Bill Ruth

Bill Ruth, a member of St. Michael Council 11445, passed away this past Thursday, August 20, 2015. If you are able to show up and pay your respects to a Brother Knight and veteran, please do so at the visitation or the funeral Mass.

The visitation is from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, August 23 at the Rutherford-Corbin Funeral Home (515 High Street, Worthington, OH 43085).

The Funeral Mass is at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 24 at St. Michael Church. Anyone planning to participate in the Honor Guard for the Funeral Mass should arrive and be ready by 9:30 AM.

Here is the obituary for Bill Ruth:
William (Bill) Ruth Sr., Worthington, Ohio. Passed away on August 20, 2015 at the Kobacker House, surrounded by family. Bill proudly served his country with the 3rd Armored Division during WWII. He was active with WWII veterans associations, specifically; the Association of 3rd Armored Division Veterans and the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge. He was inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame in 2010. Preceded in death by both parents, two sisters and two brothers. Bill was 93 years old, survived by loving wife of 67 years; five children; 12 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and two younger brothers. He was a Lifelong Vocational Educator; beginning with Westerville City Schools where he taught veterans returning from WWII under the GI Bill and at Whitehall High School teaching Marketing and Sales, including numerous state and national champion DECA teams. Bill completed his career as State Supervisor for Adult Education with The Ohio Department of Education. One of the founding fathers of adult vocational education in Ohio, establishing programs throughout the state and developing a strong cadre of new leaders for the adult vocational programs. The Bill Ruth Award, named in his honor, has been awarded continuously for the past 31 years to many of the top “Dragon Slayers” in Adult Workforce Development. Bill earned a B.S. from Pennsylvania State University, M. Ed, The Ohio State University, along with an Honorary Doctorate from Franklin University. Visitation 5-8 p.m., August 23, 2015 at RUTHERFORD-CORBIN FUNERAL HOME, 515 High Street, Worthington, Ohio. A Mass of Christian Burial, Fr. Anthony Dinovo celebrant, will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, August 24, 2015 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 5750 N. High St., Worthington, Ohio. Interment to immediately follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike (N. High Street), Lewis Center, Ohio.
